dodging_fate: Happy New Year, Folks!

Just popping in 'cause I want to know how everyone is doing on their road to health!

In 2006, after discovering The Schwarzbein Principle and that I'm both gluten intollerent and have (had) a candida overgrowth I was able to lose 70 lbs and feel much, much better :) My thyroid numbers are still in a bit of flux, but with Hashimoto's, that's just gonna happen as I understand it. I am half-way towards my weight loss goals (approximately) and am hoping to ring in 2008 at my goal weight (I have to lose 1.5 lbs a week to do that, so who knows... but here's to hoping and giving it my best shot!)

What about everyone else? Where are you in progress towards your goals? Have you found a program that is working for you?

:)

Yay! I just started reading the Principle book and have almost finished...very right on. I am doing the gluten thing now and have already done the supplementation this past summer with my nutritionist. My Q to you is how did you find that you had a Candida overgrowth?

In one of the communities (either Thyroid or Celiac) someone mentioned candida to another poster... I was curious so I looked it up. It was like reading my own medical history! I decided that it wasn't that much more restrictive than going gluten free and really fully following Dr. Schwarzbein's program so I really committed to the whole process... taking that last step led to two weeks or so of feeling like ass (die-off of the candida) and then... BOOM... the chronic fatigue lifted, my hair stopped falling out and started regrowing for the first time in years, much of my chronic pain (which had been labeled 'fibromylagia') disappeared and my poo turned green, lol (flushing the old bacteria). I also had skin rashes disappear, anal itch (sorry if that's tmi) as well as a chronic UTI and vaginal issues disappear... pretty much overnight.

So... it's all good for me :)

At this point for suppliments I'm doing two mutlis (w/o copper or iodine) a day as per my endo as well as, at night, a calcium/magnesium/zinc sup w/extra vit C to flush copper from my tissues and make it more bio-available.
